Hive Stage productions give students the opportunity to enter the world of live theatre in a focused, creatively rich environment. As a small-scale, specialised theatre school, we offer our students high quality performance opportunities each year, with rehearsals that are engaging, collaborative, and supportive—far from the competitive feel of large-scale companies.

Under the guidance of Hive’s experienced theatre educators, students develop acting, singing, stage presence, character work, and ensemble skills. Every participant, whether new or experienced, is encouraged to grow in confidence, contribute to the storytelling, and enjoy the creative process.  Students in our shows perform to the best of their own ability and provide a highly entertaining and enjoyable show for audiences.

The Show:

Step into the bustling streets of Victorian London as Oliver JR. brings Charles Dickens’ classic tale to life in a vibrant, kid-friendly musical full of heart, humour, and classic theatre songs!

Our story follows kind-hearted Oliver, an orphan who dreams of finding a place where he truly belongs. After escaping the gloomy workhouse, Oliver is swept into the lively (and slightly mischievous!) world of Fagin and his gang of street-smart pickpockets. Along the way, he meets colourful characters, dodges trouble, and discovers what friendship and courage are really all about.

With iconic musical numbers like “Food, Glorious Food,” “Consider Yourself,” and “I’d Do Anything,” this show gives every performer a chance to shine—whether they love acting, singing, dancing, or playing a bold character onstage. From bustling ensemble scenes to standout solos, Oliver JR. is packed with exciting moments for young performers of all confidence and experience levels.

And at the heart of it all? A warm, hopeful message about belonging, kindness, and finding your own voice.

How to join: For students aged 5-9 years. Please read the Information Pack and complete the jotform to join the cast. Casting of roles will occur during class time in Term 1. No audition materials will be required and instead, children will take part in an informal audition process during the first few weeks of term, which will look and feel like a normal performing arts lesson; fun supportive and safe!

The Show:

Disney’s Winnie the Pooh KIDS is a delightful show based on the beloved characters of A.A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film. Featuring favorite songs from the film, as well as new hits by the Academy Award-winning Robert and Kristen Lopez (Frozen), this honey-filled delight is as sweet as it is fun.

Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course… sharing snacks.
