HOW TO JOIN A PRODUCTION

Hive Youth Theatre presents a variety of Musical Productions and Drama Productions every year.

Stage Productions are exciting opportunities for students,  as they experience the buzz of a professional theatre experience complete with professional sound and lighting, costuming, stage set and props in a professional theatre such as the Civic Playhouse Newcastle.

Rehearsal Committment: Before joining it is important to understand the committment involved.  In addition to the show dates, cast members are expected to attend weekly 2 hr rehearsals for 2 terms in the lead up to the production. Home rehearsal is expected for all students, with more home practice time required for students with scripted roles.  School holiday intensives and dress rehearsals are also scheduled to ensure students are well prepared for their performance.

Ready to Join?

1. Click the Register your interest button on the show you’d like to join (above). You’ll then be sent an information pack with all the details relevant for that show and Audition dates.

2. After auditions, if your audition is successful you will be allocated a role in the production and placed into a Cast.

Mini productions for 5-8 year olds offer young performers a full theatre performance experience including costumes, props, professional lighting and audio with a focus on group performance to build stage skills and confidence.

Rehearsal Committment: In addition to the show dates, cast members are expected to attend weekly 1.5 hr rehearsals for 2 terms in the lead up to the production. School holiday intensives and dress rehearsals are also scheduled to ensure students are well prepared for their performance.

2. Our office will contact you to enrol your child into the Production Cast (there are no auditions for mini productions).
