Piano Lessons for Young Beginners (Ages 5–14)
At Hive Youth, our piano tuition program is designed to help young beginners develop confidence, skill, and a love of music from the very first lesson. Whether your child is starting music tuition for the first time or progressing from our early learning music classes, our lessons provide a strong foundation in reading, technique, and musical expression in a supportive and encouraging environment.
We use a comprehensive Australian-based piano method that builds essential skills step by step. Students learn to read music, understand rhythm and pitch, develop correct hand technique, and explore musical expression — all while enjoying the creativity and fun of making music.
Passionate Young Tutors for Young Beginners
Our piano tutors are emerging musicians who are passionate about music and actively performing in their own studies and ensembles. Their recent training and performance experience brings fresh energy, strong technical foundations, and a real understanding of what it feels like to be learning.
Hive piano lessons focus specifically on beginner to intermediate students. Lessons are structured to build strong fundamentals in a positive and achievable way. All tutors work within our carefully designed teaching framework and receive guidance and support from senior educators, ensuring every student receives clear, structured instruction while feeling motivated, confident, and inspired to grow.
Building Foundations for Lifelong Musicianship
Learning piano in childhood supports cognitive development, coordination, concentration, and creativity. Beyond music, lessons help children develop perseverance, confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of achievement that carries across school and life.
Lesson Availability
We offer private piano lessons for children in our after school program, with new lesson times released throughout the term as availability opens.

Lessons are held at both Charlestown locations: 8 Frederick st, Charlestown & 177 Pacific Highway Charlestown

Class Fee:
1 class / week: $380/10 week term
Payment can be made upfront or monthly installments (by request)
Performance Opportunities:
We hold private tuition concerts in term 1, and 3 each year. Students are encouraged to perform at one or more concerts per year.
Makeups:
Up to 2 Makeup lessons per term are available if there is another marked absence & if you have notified your absence at least 2 hrs prior to your lesson. Marking your absence and obtaining a makeup token does not guarantee a makeup availability. Your lesson fees pay for your timeslot and your teacher is paid whether you attend your lesson or not.
